LAND APPLICATION OF BIOSOLIDS
Biosolids contain significant quantities of organic matter, nutrients and other elements valuable for use in the agricultural sector.
Land application of biosolids has become increasingly popular in Australia since the first Guidelines were released by the NSW EPA in 1994. Victoria, SA, Tasmania and WA have since followed suit and released their own state specific guidelines. For details of each states Guidelines please visit our Resources page.
Biosolids managed in accordance with EPA Guidelines pose minimal risk when applied to land and can provide numerous benefits to the landholder, biosolids producer and environment.
Each states has different, yet similar requirements in order to gain EPA approvals. Victorians are required to develop an Environmental Improvement Plan (EIP), whilst those in NSW and Queensland are required to develop a Review of Environmental Factors (REF). Contact us to discuss your states requirements, including testing for contaminants and pathogens.
We have the knowledge, experience and equipment to provide end-to-end services for you land application project - from testing, developing your EIP (or other required documentation), biosolids transportation to spreading.
We have specifically designed spreading equipment for land application. Please see Spreading Truck and Spreading Tractor for equipment specifications.
